1982–1992 is a compilation album by the Swedish band Europe, released in 1993 by Epic Records. Vocalist Joey Tempest chose the songs for this album. The album reached the top 10 in France compilation charts in April 1993. This album contains some rarities, such as "On Broken Wings", which was the B-side for the "Final Countdown" single, and two songs from the Prisoners in Paradise sessions: "Sweet Love Child" and "Yesterday's News".

On this day in 2009, Michael Jackson, one of the most commercially successful entertainers in history, dies at the age of 50 at his home in Los Angeles, California, after suffering from cardiac arrest caused by a fatal combination of drugs given to him by his personal doctor. Jackson released his first solo album, Got to Be There, in 1972, while continuing to sing with his brothers. Jones collaborated with Jackson on his 1979 album Off the Wall, which sold some 7 million copies worldwide. The pair teamed up again for Jackson’s now-iconic 1982 album, Thriller, which went on to sell 50 million copies around the globe, making it the best-selling studio album of all time. According to The Los Angeles Times critic Robert Hillburn, the performance served as Jackson’s unofficial coronation as the King of Pop.

I bought this cd the afternoon Michael Jackson passed away. I still cant get over the fact our King of Pop is gone nor can i see his face on a magazine or tv withouth crying. He will be deeply missed. This cd has a few of his jams on it and of course they rock as do all his jams.

There's good reason Michael Jackson was crowned the King of Pop. For at least a decade-and-a-half, he was near-untouchable. His commercial success was wholly dominant: the albums he released from 1979 to 1995 - starting with the disco-tinged masterpiece of Off The Wall and ending with the 30-song behemoth HIStory - are all among the highest-selling albums of all time. The King of Pop's hits included Beat It, Billie Jean and Thriller and his 1982 album was the best-selling album of all time, with more than 26 million copies sold.
