The third album by Arcade Fire was a breakthrough commercially and exposure-wise, for the band. The ‘The Suburbs, Month of May’ 12" was the first single released. The two follow-ups, ‘We Used to Wait’ and ‘Ready to Start’ were the most succesful singles from the album in most countries including the US. The cover (there are eight different versions) shows a typical suburban home with a car parked in front. The Suburbs was Arcade Fire's first ever UK album. In topping the chart they became the first Canadian act to achieve peak position in over three years, Avril Lavigne's The Best Damn Thing previously reached the summit in April 2007.
