AWB is the second studio album by the Scottish funk and soul band Average White Band, released in August 1974. AWB topped Billboard's Pop Albums and Black Albums charts.

The Average White Band (also AWB) are a Scottish funk and R&B band that had a series of soul and disco hits between 1974 and 1980. They are best known for their million-selling instrumental track "Pick Up the Pieces", and their albums AWB and Cut the Cake

But it wasn't until they reached the US and were signed to Atlantic Records that the Average White Band really took off (Jerry Wexler signed them on the spot, after they hit him at home on one of his parties, where they played him the basic tracks for what would become the White Album: "AWB"). Arif Mardin became their producer and together they couldn't do wrong.

The Average White Band is (L-R). Cliff Lyons - Alto sax, keyboards, vocals. Rob Aries - Keyboard, bass. 1989 AWB reforms with original members Gorrie, McIntyre and Ball, and are joined by t Eliot Lewis to record Aftershock, a new studio album with guest appearances by Chaka Kahn, Ronnie Laws and Alex Ligertwood. 1997 Studio album Soul Tattoo, released with Pete Abbott on drums. Roger Ball leaves the band and recommends sax man, Fred ‘Freddy V’ Vigdor. 1998 Live album, Face To Face recorded at the Fillmore Auditorium, San Francisco, showcasing new AWB members. The band is now touring extensively. 2002 AWB releases Tonight live concert DVD.
