Truly inventive and explorative in ways that his later works in the 1990s can never be. The second CD on piano is done in a studio, yet still contains the inspired magic of his live concerts. The quieter sections are as breathtakingly beautiful as anything he has done. Maybe not his very best, and maybe not for everyone. But true fans will want this in their collections for a rainy afternoon or a special evening of introspective listening
