The Best Thing for You is an album by trumpeter Chet Baker which was recorded in 1977 but not released on the A&M label until 1989, after the performers death. The tracks were rereleased as part of the double CD reissue of You Can't Go Home Again in 2000 with previously unreleased tracks and alternate takes.
Julius Watkins (October 10, 1921 – April 4, 1977) was an American jazz musician, and one of the first French horn players in jazz. He won the Down Beat critics poll in 1960 and 1961 for "miscellaneous instrument" with French horn named as the instrument. Watkins was born in Detroit, Michigan. He began playing the French horn when he was nine years old. Watkins started his jazz career playing the trumpet in the Ernie Fields Orchestra from 1943 to 1946.

Geraint Watkins is a journeyman, starting his career as a session keyboardist, which led to a steady gig with Dave Edmunds, working his way up to a steady gig with Dave's onetime partner in crime, Nick Lowe. Along the way, he played with a diverse batch of musicians - among them John Martyn, Rory Gallagher, Tracey Ullman, the Fabulous Thunderbirds, Van Morrison, and Paul McCartney - but that Lowe connection is key on his 2004 album, Dial "W" for Watkins
