A stunning album by Supersilent. is a masterpiece of Lovecraft-ian proportions. An electronic machine that radiates subsonic frequencies that awaken new sensations, opening a gateway to some otherworld, and then turning it to a monstrous dance of sick kraut grooves. Then ". " displays still more confusion of the senses, in a gelatinous sea of digital bleeps, where finally an alien siren sings an incomprehensible hymn from beyond the infinite. After yet another devastating attack on the senses through the deformed lens of infinite outer space with ". ", the epilogue ". " doesn't offer any conclusions, merely doubt and uncertainty.
When Supersilent advertise that they record live in the studio- or rather, when other people advertise it for them- it's not a boast. Sure, rock bands who just let the tapes roll are doing something special, but that's because rock bands fuck up a lot, and because they want you to think those perfect hooks just came out of thin air, like a miracle. But in the world of jazz and improvised music, it's just another day at the studio. Supersilent don't make any great show of technique, and you'll have no problem believing that only four guys are making this music
A stunning album by Supersilent. Then the paralytic improvisation ". " practically transforms this otherworld to music. The terror of the human experience in an alien place in space and time, where the limited sensations cannot adequately comprehend what's happening.

Supersilent is a Norwegian ational music group formed at Nattjazz in Bergen in 1997 when the trio Veslefrekk was asked to play with Deathprod. The meeting of experimental jazz groups with Helge Sten's rumbling drones and noise was so successful that the quartet Supersilent appeared. That same year, their triple debut album 1-3 was released as the first release on the record label Rune Grammofon.
8 is the ensemble's eighth album. Other acts will waste your time tabulating the entries in their discography, but not these guys. Their song titles are equally terse, running from ". " to ". ". Supersilent leave these anal proclivities behind when they step into the recording studio.
