On January 13, 2015, the album's second single, "Begin Again", was released, along with the formal reveal of the album's title, cover, and track listing.

Another Eternity is the second album by Purity Ring, released on February 27th, 2015 via 4AD. another eternity Q&A. Producers Corin Roddick. Writers Corin Roddick & Megan James. Additional Production Cecil Frena. More Purity Ring albums.

In early 2011, Purity Ring showed us the perfect balance for "future pop": Be ahead of your time, but not toofar ahead. Belispeak" and "Ungirthed" perfectly anticipated the reframing of indie pop as festival-ready "Internet music", and when Shrines came out, about a year later, the Edmonton duo saw their star rise alongside the similarly-minded polyglots like Grimes, kindred. spirits who helped shift the sonic paradigm further away from guitars. However, by posting the lyrics sheet prior to the release of another eternity, the duo revealed as many "o’ers" and leering, stiff turns of phrase as a Decemberists album ("Baby why don’t you see my sea/ Get inside and build your castle into me").

Purity Ring has heralded the generation of electro-pop that seems to be a few years ahead of its time. Dozens of bands have grasped the potential of this futuristic genre and have gone their successful directions with the inspiration, but nothing really comes close to the sound Purity Ring is churning out. Shrines was a forceful statement, a revolutionary shift from modern indie pop – synchronizing ghostly effects, chopped up lyrics and the soothing voice of Megan James to create an ethereal confection of compulsively listenable tunes. Now, the duo out of Canada has released their follow up to the critically acclaimed debut album - picking up right where they left off and delivering a different realm of Purity Ring within another eternity. James and Corin Roddick (the second half of the duo) are quick to show us they’re primed and ready to deliver another stunning album through the first track, heartsigh.

After the surge of ethereal electronic bands that arrived in the wake of Shrines, Purity Ring's Megan James and Corin Roddick wanted their second album to stand out from the pack. On Another Eternity, they do just that - by becoming more pop. Where Shrines often felt exploratory, this album is direct, possibly because they worked in physical proximity for the first time, choosing Edmonton as a home base.

Purity Ring have held stake to the claim of most copied indie band of the last two years. Release Date: Mar 3, 2015 Record label: 4AD Genre(s): Electronic, Pop/Rock, Alternative/Indie Rock, Alternative Pop/Rock, Indie Electronic. 67 Music Critic Score How the Music Critic Score works. Purity Ring, the electronic-pop innovators Megan James and Corin Roddick, reveal another eternity their 2nd album and first new music in over 2 years. The release was followed by a SOLD-OUT headlining world tour and festival performances at Coachella, Pitchfork, Bonnaroo and more.

Purity Ring has heralded the generation of electro-pop that seems to be a few years ahead of its time. Each track provided a different vantage point of a work of art that was collectively and cohesively a thrilling and powerful debut album for Purity Ring; leaving our ears ringing and teeth still clicking. With a big entrance leading into their trademark drum laced synth, heartsigh prepares you for the new world of picturesque melodies, atmospheric sensations and the downright engaging celestial composition that is another eternity. Through the innovative and heart pounding bodyache to the decidedly captivating flood on the floor – this album escapes the curse many sophomore albums experience and delivers us the dependable French house production and narcotic beats we have grown to love with head bopping approval.Purity Ring didn’t miss a beat in another eternity showing us they can maintain their ascension and owning every slice of it with style and confidence.

Anyone have any issues with their copy of this? I ended up having some awful distortion, made it unlistenable - had to contact 4AD for a replacement. Recorded here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=haclkL1u7g4EDIT: Even after receiving a replacement the distortion is still present.
Anarus
Yes, I too was very disappointed with my vinyl pressing. Digital-to-analog in my case, but full of distortion.
Rich Vulture
Is the center label really poorly applied on anyone else's copy?
Eyalanev
same thing with mine
Quynaus
YES! Side One has TWO labels applied on mine. The first went down without issue, but there's a second that's only partially sealed onto the record. It doesn't affect play, but it sure does look wonky.
Vivados
Cool, I haven't had that happen before. Thanks for the tip!

Occasionally a second label gets caught up in the glueing on process and gets partially stuck on over the top of the original first label and this looks all bubbly and stops the record from sitting flat on your turntable. It's fairly easy to remedy. The second label usually gets glued on only around the very edge of the outer perimeter of the label. The second label can usually be removed by very, very carefully slicing it off with a sharp knife. Don't slip or you may end up with a very nasty scratch right across the grooves. I hope this is of help.
Tiainar
Amazing album overall. I had the chance to listen to it all the way through at Repo Records in Philadelphia a couple weeks ago and I think it's on par with Shrines.
Faegal
one listen, so far unsure -- need to dig in a bit more.
