Belkin · Söderström Philharmonia Orchestra Vladimir Ashkenazy. Int. Release 03 Feb. 2003. CD 1: Sibelius: The Symphonies, Tone Poems, Violin Concerto.

Philharmonia Orchestra. Symphony No. Jean Sibelius Composer. Vladimir Ashkenazy Conductor. Philharmonia Orchestra. Boris Belkin’s broodingly spacious 1978 version of the Violin Concerto makes its silver-disc début. He’s a bold, impulsive player with heaps of temperament, but his intonation is not terribly alluring, nor is his technique always secure.
