As Little Feat were working on their seventh studio album, Lowell George was just marginally part of the group, spending much of his time completing his solo album, Thanks I'll Eat It Here. While he was touring in support of the record, he suffered a massive heart attack and died, leaving behind an uncompleted record with Little Feat. After mourning, the band regrouped and patched together Down on the Farm, the last album of the Lowell-led era. Since George was preoccupied during the recording, it's not surprising that he only makes himself heard on occasion on the album

Willie Nelson, Neil Young and John Mellencamp founded Farm Aid and serve on the board of directors. The three agreed that family farmers were in dire need of assistance and decided to plan a concert for America. The show was put together in six weeks and was held on September 22, 1985 in Champaign, Illinois before a crowd of 80,000 people. Performers included Bob Dylan, Billy Joel, . King, Loretta Lynn, Roy Orbison, Tom Petty and many more. An earlier version is in on the "Pack Up the Planatation" album covered" playlist wtih an ancient cover by the Guess Who. Thanks for the upload!

Down on the Farm is the seventh studio album by the American rock band Little Feat, released in 1979. It was also their last original work for nine years. The band announced their break-up in June 1979 during the making of the album, and a fortnight later the band's founder and guiding light Lowell George died from a heart attack brought on by years of overindulgence. Feat would reform in 1987.

Keith Richards moves like a shadow along a cobblestone West Village backstreet. It's a hot summer day in New York City and Keef is in earth tones-a sandy brown bomber jacket, reddish brown headband, moccasins. For some strange reason, each passing year seems to make this quintessential English rock star look more and more like an American Indian-a brave or a shaman, with his creased visage and prominent nose. Out here in the open, on a public street, he has an uncanny ability to blend in with his surroundings-to tread lightly and stay close to the ground. Out of the 30 songs we recorded, we mixed four or five. We're still dickering between them right now, figuring out what will go on the album. But my strategy worked, I think. Everyone's got their chops together and they're really looking forward to this tour.

The Rolling Stones' Keith Richards says he's quitting smoking and hard liquor, after a month-long party to celebrate his 75th birthday. The Rolling Stones’ Keith Richards is a man known for embodying the culture of excess that surrounds rock and roll. In fact, he was a pioneer of it. But he’s finally beginning to slow down at the age of 75 years old, which is only 32 in rock n’ roll years. In the recent issue of Mojo magazine he reveals that he’s trying to quit smoking and cutting down on hard liquor. Like a lot of people, he’s begun the new year with an eye to get healthier. But unlike a lot of people, it comes off the back of a month long party which took place in December 2018, to celebrate his 75th birthday party

Title: Down on the Farm (1920). It's also rent day, and their landlord - the mortgage holder of the farm - is making his rounds to collect the moneys. He uses his position of power to garner sexual favors from women in return for non-eviction. Having never met Louise, the landlord immediately falls in love with her, who he too wants to marry. Perfect Imperfection" (Barrère, Tom Snow) – 3:46 (lead singer: Lowell George).

Keith Richards has confirmed that Eric Clapton will appear on the Rolling Stones' new blues-inspired album. Singer and guitarist Eric "dropped by for a couple of numbers" while they. it was like old times down in Richmond. Eric's former band The Yardbirds used to play at the Crawdaddy Club in Richmond, Surrey, just like the Rolling Stones. Keith Richards is the subject of a new documentary (Jane Rose/BBC). Keith said he had heard a "whisper" the album will be out in the autumn, adding that it includes songs by Little Walter and Howlin' Wolf
