Black Moth Super Rainbow (occasionally abbreviated as BMSR) is an American experimental electronic band from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, US. The project is currently composed of frontman, singer, and songwriter Tobacco whose vocals are altered via a vocoder, synth player The Seven Fields of Aphelion, synth player Pony Diver, drummer Iffernaut, and bassist STV SLV. Former members include keyboardist Father Hummingbird, who typically played with a polysynth, and Power Pill Fist on bass.

Black Moth Super Rainbow. Six years, one limited mini-album of outtakes, and three Tobacco solo records on from 2012's Cobra Juicy, Black Moth Super Rainbow returned with their long-awaited seventh album, Panic Blooms. While the group's previous few full-lengths found them increasingly sharpening the fidelity of their neon-hued, cracked-prism psych-pop, Panic Blooms is one of their sludgiest-sounding albums in years, applying the filthy tape smudge of Tobacco's solo work to BMSR's songwriting approach

The experimental psych outfit will also be hitting the road this summer for a string of North American dates. A few years ago, Black Moth Super Rainbow, the trippy, hallucinatory psych outfit led by producer Tobacco, dropped SeeFu Lilac, a surprise album said to be neon flavored outtakes from a 6th album that doesn’t yet exist. Well, good news: It does now, because the band just announced Panic Blooms, its first proper LP since 2012’s Cobra Juicy. Expect it on May 4th via Rad Cult
