Throughout Against the Wind, Seger winds up performing better on the ballads than the rockers, which, while good, tend to sound a little formulaic. Still, Seger's formula is good and if "Her Strut" and "Betty Lou's Gettin' out Tonight" would have been second stringers on Stranger in Town, they offer a nice balance here, and the rest of the record alternates between similarly well-constructed rockers and introspective ballads like "Against the Wind" and "Fire Lake
Against the Wind" is the highest ranking single from the album, peaking at Glenn Frey of the Eagles sang background vocals on this song. According to Timothy White, a writer for Rolling Stone, "'Against the Wind' is about trying to move ahead, keeping your sanity and integrity at the same time. G Bm C G Against the wind, a little something against the wind. C Bm Am C G I found myself seeking shelter against the wind. Em D G Well those drifter's days are past me now
Album bob seger greatest hits. Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band - Against the Wind Songtext. We were runnin' against the wind We were young and strong we were runnin' Against the wind. The years rolled slowly past. And I found myself alone Surrounded by strangers I thought were my friends Found myself further and further from my home and I guess I lost my way There were oh so many roads I was living to run and running to live Never worried about paying or even how much I owed Moving eight miles a minute for months at a time.
