Josep Pons (born Josep Pons i Viladomat; 1957) is a Spanish-Catalan conductor. Pons was born in Puig-reig, Berguedà. He received his musical training at L'Escolania de Montserrat and continued his musical studies in Barcelona with such teachers as Josep Soler i Sardà (composition) and Antoni Ros-Marbà (conducting). In 1985, Pons founded the Orquestra de Cambra Teatre Lliure (Chamber Orchestra of the Teatre Lliure). He directed the Coral Càrmina from 1988 to 1990

Josep Pons (born Josep Pons i Viladomat; 1957) is a Spanish-Catalan conductor. He directed the Coral Càrmina from 1988 to 1990. He was the musical director for the 1992 Summer Olympics. Pons was the first artistic director of the Jove Orquestra Simfònica.

Josep Maria Pons Irazazábal (born April 12, 1948 in Palma) is a Spanish diplomat. He was the president of RCD Mallorca from 8 July to 27 September 2010. From 28 June 2008 to 23 July 2010 was the Spanish ambassador in Austria, ceased as a precautionary measure after being wrongfully accused of sexual harassment. He has been the Spanish ambassador to Netherlands, Denmark and Lithuania.

Josep Pons returns to the Konzerthaus Berlin to conduct a Spanish-themed programme with Patricia Petibon on 14, 15 and 16 July. Together, they perform works by Ravel and Falla, including arias from La vida breveand Scheherazade. Josep Pons and Patricia Petibon recorded an album together with Deutsche Grammophon called Melancolia, which features many of these works. These performances follow a recent run of performances of Don Giovanni at the Liceu de Barcelona.

The Symphony Orchestra and Female Choir of the Gran Teatre del Liceu, conducted by Josep Pons, will perform works by Parera Fons, Debussy and Mendelssohn at the Auditori de Barcelona. Shakespeare inspired one of the works most performed and loved by music lovers: The Midsummer Night's Dream by Mendelssohn – an example of stage music, written in 1842 at the request of King Frederick William IV of Prussia, on the occasion of a performance of this Shakespeare play. Hr has been the Spanish ambassador to Netherlands, Denmark and Lithuania. His brother Félix Pons, who died of cancer. on 2 July 2010, was a Spanish politician who was the president of Congress of Deputies (Spain) from 1986 to 1996.
