And these Velvelettes were all four original girls. Not a substitution in sight. I continued to record them over the next few years, releasing their first ever album, something which, at the time, they had never achieved at Motown. There was also another wonderful song that I co-wrote with Ivy Jo Hunter, the legendary Motown songwriter, called "It Keeps Reminding Me (Of Happy memories)", a song which summed up everything I tried to achieve with my Motorcity Reunion Project  . He Was Really Saying Something. 8. 9. These Things Will Keep Me Loving You. 10. I'm The Exception To The Rule. The Velvelettes only released singles and their plans to release an album during their time at Motown was shelved. It wasn't until 1984 after a reunion concert were they able to release an album ("One Door Opens")with their re-recordings of their earlier work along with some new songs. The Velvelettes are one of the few girl groups who are still singing today, and after listening to this Cd you'll know why. If you like The Marvalettes, Martha Reeves and the Vandellas and the Supremes, you'll LOVE the Velvelettes!!!!
