The result would be Donald Byrd's 'Street Lady'. Donald and producer Larry Mizell were obviously taking (Blue)notes from Isaac Hayes and Curtis Mayfield when conceiving this album; its shows all through the recording. They enlisted the now-legendary studio musicians Chuck Rainey(bass guitar) and Harvey Mason(drums) to lay down the pocket and boy, do they ever. The style of music which he has combined is the utmost sound ever. He has a great group of Producers, and a great band to back him up. I recommend this album to anyone. Listen to songs like: Miss Kane, and Witch Hunt. The art work is fantastic, that is why it is called "Street Lady. Responder Notifique-me 5 Helpful. 3 de setembro de 2008. This is the album that's going to get me into jazz-funk. I own a lot of jazz-fusion records but not much jazz-funk.

Street Lady is a funk jazz music album recording by DONALD BYRD released in 1973 on CD, LP/Vinyl and/or cassette. DONALD BYRD - Street Lady. Filed under Funk Jazz By DONALD BYRD.
But the appeal of Street Lady is how its polished neo-funk and pseudo-fusion sound uncannily like a jive movie or television soundtrack from the early '70s - you can picture the Street Lady, decked out in polyester, cruising the streets surrounded by pimps with wide-brimmed hats and platform shoes. And while that may not be ideal for jazz purists, it's perfect for kitsch and funk fanatics.
