The Rawlins Piano Trio, Henry Hadley, Daniel Gregory Mason, Ernest Bloch, Charles Wakefield Cadman - 4 American Composers ‎(CD, Album).

Daniel Gregory Mason related to Huss in 1892, that John Knowles Paine, the dean of American composers with whom Mason was studying at the time, considered Huss "the best of the young generation of American composers". But like many other American composers of the time, Huss found it very difficult to get his music performed and published. His Trio in d minor, Op. 23, was composed in 1886 and dedicated to his teacher Joseph Rheinberger. The composers whose trios are performed on those discs include Henry Hadley, Daniel Gregory Mason, Charles Wakefield Cadman, Ernest Bloch, Samuel Adler, William Clifford Heilman, and Horatio Parker.

The following is a chronological list (by year of birth) of American composers of classical music. Charles Theodore Pachelbel (1690–1750). John Antes (1740–1811). William Billings (1746–1800). Justin Morgan (1747–1798). Raynor Taylor (1747–1825). Supply Belcher (1751–1836). John Christopher Moller (1755–1803). Alexander Reinagle (1756–1809). Daniel Read (1757–1836). Samuel Adams Holyoke (1762–1820). Oliver Holden (1765–1844). Benjamin Carr (1768–1831). James Hewitt (1770–1827).

Chronologically following Nicholas Tawa's The Coming of Age of American Art Music, this new study stands on its own in examining the music of the most prominent American composers active in the first three decades of the twentieth century. Among them are Edgar Stillman Kelley, Frederick Shepherd Converse, Daniel Gregory Mason, Edgar Burlingame Hill, Mabel Daniels, Henry Hadley, Deems Taylor, Charles Wakefield Cadman, Henry Gilbert, Arthur Farwell, John Powell, Arthur Shepherd, Scott Joplin, Charles Tomlinson Griffes, Marion Bauer, and John Alden Carpenter.
