Almost all songs on the album were sung by guest singer Carl Sentance as the band did not have a full-time singer in place when recording began. Russ North (which is the only singer credited on the record) became a permanent vocalist and member of the band during the recording session and he only laid the vocals on "Which Way to Go".

Tredegar is the self-titled debut album by the Welsh heavy metal band Tredegar. The vocals on all but one song on the album were recorded by guest singer Carl Sentence as the band did not have a full-time frontman in place when recording began. Russ North joined as the permanent vocalist during the recording sessions and sung on "Which Way to G. As part of their live set they played covers of a number of Budgie songs including "Breadfan", "Napoleon Bonapart", "Zoom Club" and "Parents".

Formed after Ray Phillips and Tony Bourge left Budgie. The band personally financed their debut album, along with a single and music video, due to a lack of label interest.
