International Henryk Wieniawski Composers Competition. National Zdzisław Jahnke Violin Competition. National Jan Rakowski Viola Competition. During the competition, the nineteen-year-old Barbara Górzyńska was a freshman student in Professor Zenon Płoszaj's class at the State Higher School of Music in Łódź. Two years earlier she was laureate of International George Enescu Competition, and after the Poznań event, winner of International Carl Flesch Competition in London, as well as an event in Zagreb. Since graduation she has given solo and chamber performances in numerous countries of Europe. Also an educator, for years she has lived in Vienna.
The international Henryk Wieniawski Violin Competition is a competition for violinists up to age 30 that takes place every five years in Poznań, Poland, in honor of the virtuoso and composer Henryk Wieniawski. The first competition took place in 1935 in Warsaw, 100 years after the birth of its patron, and consisted of two stages. Henryk Wieniawski (July 10, 1835 Lublin, Poland - March 31, 1880 Moscow) was a Polish composer and violinist. He was born into a Polish-Jewish family, whose father, Tobiasz Pietruszka, converted to Catholicism. His talent for playing the violin was recognized early on, and in 1843 he entered the Paris Conservatoire. After graduation, Wieniawski toured extensively, giving many recitals on which he was often accompanied by his brother Józef on piano. ПодписатьсяПодпискаПодписка.
