Only for completionists (2%). When approaching this album, I had to rid myself of all the hype surrounding it - much of which, one might suspect, comes from people who own a copy and want to make a fortune selling it on, and take it for what it is. What it is, is a concept album by a group of guys who had been together for little over a year, performed a few gigs and, thanks to the economic backing of a friend, managed to get into a small studio armed with basic recording equipment (a 2-track Reel-to-Reel) and release what would turn out to be one of the.

With a title that means "How to Commit Suicide," Necronomicon's one album, from 1972, featured bleak progressive garage rock with long instrumental passages. With wailing acid guitar solos, dark organ swirls, and angst-ridden singing in German, Necronomicon has created a dark and powerful vision that blends psychedelic and progressive music with a proto-punk garage band sensibility

The LP "Verwundete Stadt" is an album, in which NECRONOMICON in 5 symphonic rock songs deals with the manifold problems of modern cities. In "Trostlose Stadt (Desolate City)" (Breuer/Sturm, 10:06) the impoverishment of a metropolis is described. Licht und Schatten" tells about the contrast between the living of rich and poor in the same town (Breuer/Sturm, 7:42). It is interesting to note that the tape comprises live versions of all tracks from the 1972 LP "Tips zum Selbstmord" played by the original cast of band members from 1972. The live versions mostly are much longer than the 1972 studio recordings because the tracks had to be shortened for the studio record.
