Melody's Echo Chamber", or "The Time Tame Impala Went to France". It's almost every thing you can expect from a Tame Impala record, with the exception of some intrumental arrangements and the vocals provided by Melody herself. It's definitely a well produced album with some really catchy songs and neat psychedelic vibes, but the overall lack of ambition of the project and the repetitive production make it feel like a watered out copy of Tame Impala (even though it was.
Melody’s Echo Chamber is the project of classically trained French t Melody Prochet, and an aptly named one too. Her debut album is a shimmering, lovely thing: a psychedelic gauze through which traces of dream-pop and shoegaze reverberate. It is also, on some level, a reaction against her musical background. Having toiled over her songs, she felt disillusioned by their formal, restrained nature.
At the time, a new song was released, and a tour was planned. It seemed like Prochet was finally ready to follow up her breakthrough 2012 self-titled debut. Before her accident, the French artist decamped to Sweden to work on the album with psychedelic brethren Fredrik Swahn of the Amazing and Dungen’s Reine Fiske. In part, the music is a testament to the trio’s mutual love of deep-cut oddities.
