A The Art Of Parties

  • Written-By [Uncredited] – David Sylvian

A 5½" Flexi-Disc manufactured in Russia by some obscure plant in the 90's in Limited Quantities. These were manufactured in different colours; this edition being a Green Acetate and single-sided; there is no B-side.

The song is 'The Art Of Parties' and has been taken from the 1981 recording of the Single, 'The Art Of Parties'. The sound of the recording is quite average and mono.

The Green acetate comes with a simple greyscale cover which has been printed on plain paper. This is a Collectors' item for Completists who must have literally everything 'JAPAN'; this is NOT a record for digital sound lovers or glossy covers admirers.

The Art of Parties is a song by the British band Japan. It was released as a single in April 1981 and reached number 48 on the UK Singles Chart. A re-recorded version was subsequently included as the opening track on the band's album Tin Drum released later in 1981. A live version of the song is included on Japan's 1983 album Oil on Canvas and on the DVD release The Very Best of Japan. On "The Art of Parties": David Sylvian - lead vocals, guitars, treated piano, brass arrangements.

Produced by Japan & Steve Nye. Album Tin Drum. The Art Of Parties Lyrics. Once I was young, once I was smart Now I'm living on the edge of my nerves The things we said weren't quite so tough When we were young. Well, I'm burning I'm burning buildings I'm building, this time. Hoh, hoh, hoh For the art of parties Hoh, hoh, hoh Under heavy weather Hoh, hoh, hoh For the art of parties Hoh, hoh, hoh I'm burning, burning. I'm living, I'm living my life I'm living this time
