Operation Ivy was an American punk rock band from Berkeley, California formed in May 1985. The band was stylistically important as one of the first bands to mix the elements of hardcore punk and ska into a new amalgam called ska punk and was critical to the emergence of Lookout Records and the so-called "East Bay Sound. The band's name was derived from the Operation Ivy series of nuclear tests in 1952.

Rancid is the eponymously titled debut studio album by the American punk rock band Rancid. It was released on May 10, 1993, through Epitaph Records. It is the only album to feature the band as a trio (guitarist/vocalist Lars Frederiksen would later join the band for the album's supporting tour), as well as one of three albums not to be produced by Brett Gurewitz (the others being. And Out Come The Wolves and Life Won't Wait). However, Gurewitz provided backing vocals on the album.

Operation Ivy existed for only two years, during which time they changed the DNA of punk music forever by merging hardcore velocity with peppy two-step rhythms, resulting in an often imitated (but never duplicated) sound. This album compiles their brief-but-brilliant original discography into one document, showcasing guitarist Tim Armstrong’s herky-jerk riffs on tracks like Take Warning, and displaying singer Jesse Michaels’ sincere pleas for dancing instead of violence on the party-starting Unity. Operation Ivy existed for only two years, during which time they changed the DNA of punk music forever by merging hardcore velocity with peppy two-step rhythms, resulting in an often imitated (but never duplicated) sound.

Operation Ivy was an influential Ska punk band formed in Albany, California. The band's name, previously abandoned by another Gilman group, Isocracy, was derived from the Operation Ivy series of nuclear tests.

I have set up RANCID before, but I was never able to set up CVS properly with it. This resulted in me having to Diff everything through CLI. It wasn't a problem, but having a GUI would certainly be the preferred method.

Formed in 1987, Op Ivy are a legendary 4-piece fronted by future Rancid cohorts Tim Armstrong and Matt Freeman, along with friends Jesse Michaels (Common Rider) and Dave Mello. Energy" was released in 1989, the band broke up, and the record went Gold. Now considered a classic and regularly name-checked in lists of the all-time great punk and alternative albums, "Energy" has sold well over 500,000 copies to date and is one of the most in-demand out of print releases. This is a such a great album. I feel like if you are here, you know that already but if you are having any doubts just play the album from youtube, stand up and skank. use Tom Loomas full album, ugpunk's posting of it isn't as good quality if this bothers yo.
