During a two year hiatus from acting, Maureen O'Hara concentrated on her singing voice and recorded just two LPs 'Sings Her Favourite Irish Songs' and 'Love Letters' both of which are featured here. As the original album titles indicate, the first 16 tracks are devoted to folk songs of her native Ireland with versions of "A Kerry Cow" and "Danny Boy" whilst tracks 17 to 28 is devoted to her personal choices from the Great American Songbook. This set also features two bonus tracks from the original Broadway musical 'Christine'.

She often worked with director John Ford and longtime friend John Wayne. She was born as Maureen FitzSimons on Beechwood Avenue in the Dublin suburb of Ranelagh. She was the second oldest of the six children of Charles Stewart Parnell FitzSimons and Marguerita Lilburn FitzSimons. Love Letters from Maureen O'Hara has been released on CD in Japan and is now out of print. An icon of Hollywood's Golden Age, at the height of her career, O'Hara was considered one of the world's most beautiful women.
