Toxicity is the second studio album by Armenian-American heavy metal band System of a Down, released on September 4, 2001 by American Recordings and Columbia Records. Featuring the heaviness and aggression of their 1998 eponymous debut, it features more melody, harmonies, and singing than the band's aforementioned album.

Released September 4, 2001. 1. Prison Song Lyrics. The second album released by heavy metal band System of a Down, Toxicity is arguably the band’s most popular album; it sold approximately 2,700,000 copies in the US alone, and contains three of the band’s biggest hits; Chop Suey!, Toxicity, and Aerials. The song Chop Suey! was put on the 2001 Clear Channel memorandum, a list of lyrically questionable songs released after the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

The album was produced by Rick Rubin and Daron Malakian, and reached on the Billboard Top 200. In early 2002, medium-quality MP3s of the album were released on the internet under the name Toxicity II, a clear reference to the band’s previous, multi-platinum record, Toxicity. The band issued a statement expressing disappointment in the fact that fans were hearing material that was unfinished, and worked to release a completed, better quality version of the album, which became what is now known as Steal This Album!

Mr.Bean
My tape is labeled as Toxicity but is actually their self titled. I was very confused when I was expecting to hear Prison Song...

That, sir, is truly bizarre. I want to get a copy of this just to see if the same thing happens to me.
