Mr. Leopold Bloom - Backwater 1 album download
Leopold Bloom is the fictional protagonist and hero of James Joyce's Ulysses. His peregrinations and encounters in Dublin on 16 June 1904 mirror, on a more mundane and intimate scale, those of Ulysses/Odysseus in Homer's epic poem the Odyssey. The character's name and some of his personality was inspired by James Joyce's friend Leopold Popper. Popper was a Jew of Bohemian descent who had hired Joyce as an English tutor for his daughter Amalia

comes out and his unshaven reddened face, coughing. He rakes his throat rudely, pukes phlegm on the floor.
Leopold Bloom's cat in Dublin. What would I be doing, licking disgusting paper, me a cat from a better class of Dublin tenement? Nine lives but I’ve needed every one of them. Peculiar and all, the way things pan out and I’m sure me aul master, Mr Bloom, Lord rest his soul, would come up with a bit of profound thinking to try and explain the various mysteries of the universe. But then, no one could really make sense of that bloody mad book. Sure wasn’t Joyce a quare one and no mistake. On the day I first met Mr Bloom, a few years earlier (before the damn book) there had been a blaze with lots of smoke, but me being curious by nature, in I went and I settled for good because he was kind. There he was in the middle of dealing with an inferno, the mistress screeching Poldy!, Poldy! My tea! and didn’t he bend down with a saucer of milk.

Leopold Bloom by The Torrent. The first in the series is a new single by Toronto's the Torrent, an ced avant-rock group featuring Mike . of the Hidden Cameras and Cameron Groves. Released ahead of their forthcoming LP, Leonora Moreno, "Life Boat" is a delicious bit of downer pop anchored by a minimal drumbeat, swaying strings, droning electric guitar and lamenting monotone vocals, which united slide somewhere in between one of Stephin Merritt's 69 Love Songs and the solo work of Calvin Johnson and Michael Gira.
Mr Leopold Bloom ate with relish the inner organs of beasts and fowls. He liked thick giblet soup, nutty gizzards, a stuffed roast heart, liverslices fried with crustcrumbs, fried hencods' roes. Most of all he liked grilled mutton kidneys which gave to his palate a fine tang of faintly scented urine. The Bloom character, born in 1866, is the only son of Rudolf Virág (a Hungarian Jew from Szombathely who emigrated to Ireland, converted from Judaism to Protestantism, changed his name to Rudolph Bloom and later committed suicide), and of Ellen Higgins, an Irish Protestant.
