Sydney Devine (born Cleland, Lanarkshire 1940) is Scotland's very own rhinestone cowboy, a singer whose career began with a television appearance in 1953 at the age of thirteen, developed during eight years touring with the White Heather Group. When visiting Hawaii with Andy Stewart's band, he heard the Hawaiian singer Don Ho perform Tiny Bubbles; this became Devine's signature tune and he went on to sell fifteen million albums {verification please}.

In 1974, Scottish country singer Sydney Devine performed the song for his album, Encores; it is considered to be his signature song. Others who have covered the tune included Al Caiola and Tiny Ti. .The song was considered to be Ho's signature song. In one performance of the song, after nearly thousands, Ho reportedly quipped "God, I hate that song". The song was featured in the 2001 film Bubble Boy. Alongside Ho's other songs, "E Le Ka Lei Lei (Beach Party Song)" and "Wish They Didn't Mean Goodbye", the song
