End of the Century is the fifth studio album by the American punk rock band the Ramones, released on February 4, 1980, through Sire Records. The album was the band's first produced by Phil Spector, though he had offered the band his assistance earlier in their career. With Spector fully producing the album, it was the first release that excluded original member Tommy Ramone, who in 1978 left the band but produced their previous album Road to Ruin.

Love this album but the version of Rock 'n' Roll High School is NOT the Phil Spector version but, disappointingly, the Ed Stasium version. It's ALMOST End of the Century, only with one wrong version of one song.

End Of The Century marks the one-off collaboration between the Ramones and renowned 60’s producer Phil Spector. Allegedly, this partnership was Joey’s idea, being a big fan of 60’s bubblegum pop. And the fact is, it worke. artially. All those of you familiar with previous Ramones albums, and their wawn-two-th’ee-faw! policy, will be a bit let down by the first few songs on this album. Unsurprisingly, Let’s Go! ranks among the best songs in this album, and is its one true forgotten gem. Forgiving the macho-man Soldier of Fortune lyrics, this is a song that rocks plenty hard and will satisfy any Ramones fan. The same can be said of the highly entertaining (if slightly tiredsome) Rock’n’Roll High School. One of the Ramones most famous songs, this one even titled a movie, and is basically about skiving school and riding around having fun.
