Futures is the fifth studio album by American rock band Jimmy Eat World, released on October 19, 2004, through Interscope Records. Futures was led by the successful single "Pain", followed by "Work" and "Futures". The album has sold 620,000 units in the United States, giving it Gold Record status. The band initially entered the studio with Mark Trombino, producer of the band's previous three studio albums, Static Prevails (1996), Clarity (1999), and Bleed American (2001)

But CME weather futures and options on futures are standardized contracts traded publicly on the open market in an electronic auction type of environment, with continuous negotiation of prices and complete price transparency. Broadly speaking, CME weather futures and options on futures are exchange-traded derivatives that, by means of specific indexes, reflect monthly and seasonal average temperatures of 15 . and five European cities. These derivatives are legally binding agreements made between two parties and settled in cash. For European cities, CME's weather futures for the HDD months are calculated according to how much the day's average temperature is lower than 18° Celsius. However, CME weather futures for the summer months in European cities are based not on the CDD index but on an index of accumulated temperatures, the cumulative average temperature (CAT).

Weather futures and options are all index-based products. Indexing makes it possible to trade weather in a way comparable to trading other index products such as stock indexes. The products are geared to different indexes. Weather futures and options are listed with and subject to the rules and regulations of CME. CME Group is a trademark of CME Group Inc. Weather futures can be set up between two parties or they can trade on the open market just like a stock. It is also important to realize that weather futures are different than weather insurance. The weather future is an investment that was first developed in 1997. This was done in response to growing concerns by large industries about the potential financial disasters that could occur as a result of weather. The primary reason that weather futures are used is to help businesses hedge risks. Many businesses, such as energy companies, stand to lose large amounts of money if the weather does not behave as normal. For example, if the weather is unusually cold in the summer, a large theme park could lose large amounts of money. By investing in weather futures, the company can mitigate this risk and be compensated if the weather does not cooperate.
