State of Shock was the biggest hit from the Jacksons' Victory album, reaching number 3 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and number 14 on the UK Singles Chart. The song was originally recorded with Freddie Mercury, as Jackson and Mercury had been working on several tracks at that time (1981–83), . the unreleased title. track Victory for the eponymous album and There Must Be More to Life Than This from Mr. Bad Guy. The final version featured lead vocals by Michael Jackson and Mick Jagger. In 2002 a demo of Mercury and Jackson singing State Of Shock got leaked online.

Victory is the fifteenth studio album by the Jacksons. It was released on July 2, 1984 by Epic Records. The album was the only album to include all six Jackson brothers together as an official group; also, it was the band's last album to be entirely recorded with lead singer Michael Jackson, as well as their first album to feature Jermaine Jackson since 1975's Moving Violation

Michael Philip Jagger was born into a middle-class family in Dartford, Kent on 26 July 1943. His father, Basil Fanshawe "Joe" Jagger (13 April 1913 – 11 November 2006), and grandfather, David Ernest Jagger, were both teachers. His mother, Eva Ensley Mary (née Scutts; 6 April 1913 – 18 May 2000), born in Sydney, Australia, of English Jagger performed without the Stones for the Live Aid multi-venue charity concert in 1985. He performed at Philadelphia's JFK Stadium, including a duet with Tina Turner of "It's Only Rock and Roll" (which was highlighted by Jagger tearing away Turner's skirt) and a cover of "Dancing in the Street" with David Bowie, who was performing at Wembley Stadium, London.
