Television commercials for the home versions included a brief plug for the album at the end. The album featured a techno song for each of the 7 playable characters, as well as Goro, along with two additional tracks.

The album Mortal Kombat - The Album uses different types of techno, j-pop, and rock to feed directly off of the kung-fu style of the motion picture. Using the main characters of the movie and the first game: Johnny Cage, Kano, Sub-Zero, Liu Kang, Scorpion, Sonya, Rayden, and Goro, the album gives a nice theme song for each based on their style and history. Such as Rayden the Thunder God. His song on the album is mostly techno, and electronica. Giving nice house type style techno and rap to explain his origin and his involvement in the Mortal Kombat world

I appreciate the fact that some underground producers took a music theme from a very well respected video game franchise and made a techno mix. Sadly, It's a very cliched sounding release with all the music samples being used to death during it's time of release. The "Master White" sample is also incredibly annoying as a lot of ravey techno nonsense from the early 90's. Don't take this as a negative review. It's fun to listen at times, that classic "At The Olympic Games" feeling is always bitter sweet in fact, this can fit perfect as a cheesy hymn to an Olympic Games event. Don't know what the actual developers of "Mortal Kombat" thought about this mash-up when it was released and quickly forgotten. It definitely has nothing to do with the Game at all with all the Intense Violence, A Gabber / Hardcore release would had maked much more sense than mixing this with some cheesy Eurodance.

I would argue the Techno-Syndrome Mix has become very well known, and is a classic in its own right - especially after its use in the movie. The Immortals - Mortal Kombat (The Album) is also a masterpiece in my opinion - a hardcore track version may have been nice as well, but I agree that it wouldn't be as commercially marketable.

Yeah, a Gabber track would have suited Mortal Kombat more but I really doubt it would have been suitable for mainstream audiences, both in the cinema and on this single.I think Oliver Adams did a really great job on the main "Techno-Syndrome" mix, it's like a culmination of the sound he was making up to that point with Praga Khan and Jade 4 U.I see the track as the final Belgian Techno release before Gabber took over the scene, and sure it has cheesy vocal samples but it has a rockin' riff and I for one still love to play it!

I also thought it was "Master White" but it's "Test Your Might" like in the game. Just FYI from another fan dude lol
