Howlin' Wolf is the second studio album from Chicago blues monicist Howlin' Wolf. It is a collection of twelve singles previously released by the Chess label from 1960 through 1962. Because of the illustration on its sleeve (by Don S. Bronstein), the album is often called The Rockin' Chair Album, a nickname even added to the cover on some reissue pressings of the LP.
The Howlin' Wolf Album is a 1969 album by Howlin' Wolf, with members of Rotary Connection as his backing band. It mixed blues with psychedelic rock arrangements of several of Howlin' Wolf's classic songs. Howlin' Wolf strongly disliked the album, which is noted on the album's cover. The album peaked at number 69 on Billboard magazine's Black Albums chart. In 1967, Marshall Chess formed Cadet Concept Records as a subsidiary of Chess Records
How many more years Have I got to let you dog me around? I'd soon rather be dead Sleeping six feet in the ground. I'm gonna fall on my knees I'm gonna raise up my right hand I'm gonna fall on my knees I'm gonna raise up my right hand Say I'd feel much better, darling If you'd just only understand. I'm going upstairs I'm gonna bring back down my clothes I'm going upstairs I'm gonna bring back down my clothes, do them all If anybody ask about me Just tell 'em I walked out on. More on Genius. Album: The Sun Records Collection (1951). Get the Sheet Music License This Song. By 1948, Howlin' Wolf had established himself within the Memphis community as something of a local celebrity. The Chicago bluesman had a 15-minute radio show to help advertise his local appearances and he started recording in 1951, after Sun Studio founder, Sam Phillips, heard him on his radio show. The first two songs that Wolf laid down were this track, along with "Moanin' At Midnight," on August 15, 1951. That was a big shift. In some ways 'How Many More Years' by Wolf would be the first rock 'n' roll song because that has the guitar lick that became the central guitar lick in rock 'n' roll, and that's the first time we heard that played on a distorted guitar. It was an old big band lick, turned into something completely fresh.
