One of the finest Dixieland-oriented cornetists of the past few decades, Ernie Carson is in excellent form leading his regular group of the period. On what was only his second album as a leader, Carson has many hot solos on a good-time set that mixes together a few standard jams with such rarely played tunes as "Storybook Ball," "Mammy O'Mine" and "Moving Picture Ball. The sidemen include the great stride pianist Don Ewell, trombonist Skip Diringer, clarinetist Herman Foretich and banjoist Bill Rutan, who takes a few vocals.

The Road Goes On Forever was The Allman Brothers Band's first compilation album, a two-LP set released in 1975. It featured songs from the Allmans' first five albums. The album's title is a line from "Midnight Rider. Black Hearted Woman" (Gregg Allman) – 5:18. Dreams" (Gregg Allman) – 7:19. Whipping Post" (Gregg Allman) – 5:22. Midnight Rider" (Gregg Allman, Robert Payne) – 3:00.
