Normie Rowe, AM (born 1 February 1947, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia) is an Australian singer and actor. Between 1965 and 1967 Rowe was Australia's most popular male star but his career was cut short when he was drafted for compulsory military service (called National Service in Australia) in late 1967. His subsequent tour of duty in Vietnam effectively ended his pop career and he was never able to recapture the success in music he enjoyed at his peak, and instead carving out a career in theatre.

My favourite Normie Rowe song (along with Ooh La La ), and one which rarely gets played nowadays. Thanks heaps for posting. I personally have met Normie 3 years ago through a 70s Aussie pop star/TV presenter I knew Ray Burgess, he invited me to a Normie Rowe gig at a leagues club in Ryde, it was an excellent show n Normie pulled some funny jokes in between. ussie Have you any idea what became of Normie Rowe? I was a 17 year old pom living in Fremantle in 1965 and some girls thought I was him and mobbed me. Happy days!! 9 years назад.

NORMIE @ The Concourse Theatre. Normie is extremely disappointed to advise that due to ill health, he has decided to postpone his concert that is scheduled for Friday, November 9th. His medical advice has urged him to rest and not to undertake air travel until further notice. As soon as he has a clearer indication of when he’ll be able to travel, a rescheduled date will be announced. It’s 50 years since Normie Rowe last performed the entire concert on his own in a theatre in Sydney. He’s performed in thousands of clubs and dozens of theatres in shows and headlined concerts with other artists. But this is different! This is the soundtrack of Normie's career from the teen hysteria era of Shakin’ All Over through the theatrical triumph of Les Miserables.
