Notes

Unofficial CD which was handed out during a personal appearance tour in 1992. Production values are limited and there are no production notes or credits listed except for tracks 2 & 3, which were written by Dead Or Alive. The remainder of the CD are standard classics that only contain Pete Burns' vocals accompanied by a piano. The first song in the track 3 medley is mis-labelled "Your Sweetness Is My Weakness". Tracks 6 to 11 are also mis-numbered as track 3 contains a medley of 3 songs and is labelled 3a, 3b & 3c. A label for a 4th track is erroneously omitted, therefore the tracks after 3 should be labelled 4 to 9.

Fan the Flame (Part 1) is the fifth studio album from dance music band Dead or Alive and was released in 1990. Epic Records released Fan the Flame (Part 1) in Japan only. The album remained an exclusive in this territory until the worldwide release of the Sophisticated Boom Box MMXVI compilation box set in 2016. The album contains a slight change in musical style for Dead or Alive, best known for Hi-NRG and dance-pop songs.

1990 saw the release of Fan the Flame (Part 1); an album released only in Japan. The album had three singles, "Your Sweetness (Is Your Weakness)", "Gone Too Long", and "Unhappy Birthday". The band had planned to release Fan the Flame (Part 2) in 1992, which was similar in style to Part 1, but with the modest sales of Part 1 in UK, Part 2 was never released. It would have featured tracks such as "I Don't Care About Your Heart", as well as a cover of Barry White's "It's Ecstasy When You Lay Down Next To Me". Some tracks were later.

Формируйте собственную коллекцию записей Dead Or Alive. While Youthquake put Dead or Alive firmly on the pop/dance map, for me it was always Nude that captured my heart. Here is Dead or Alive in all their glory (pun intended), unabashedly dramatic, romantic, rolling around on a bed of roses and crying their eyes out over lost love. Pete Burns chews up every lyric, and why the emotional timbre of the album hovers somewhere around a 14 year old girl's, there's no denying this is one of the silliest and most fun pop albums of the late 80's.

The band consists of vocalist/guitarist Patrick Stump, bassist Pete Wentz, guitarist Joe Trohman, and drummer Andy Hurley. The band originated from Chicago's hardcore punk scene, with which Wentz was heavily involved. The group was formed by Wentz and Trohman as a pop punk side project of their respective hardcore bands, and Stump joined shortly thereafter. And within 3 days I was completely obsessed with him and FOB. And it inspired me to start a band with my friends. I’m not the bass player like pete (I’m lead singer) but he’s still so inspirational. We still need a guitarist but otherwise i have a band!

The year 1990 saw the release of Fan the Flame (Part 1); an album released only in Japan. A radical departure in style, the album had more of a 1970s disco style crossed with lounge-style vocals. The band had planned to release Fan the Flame (Part 2) in 1992, which was very similar in style to Part 1, but with the modest sales of Part 1, Part 2 was never released. For a few years, Dead or Alive was mostly inactive in the recording studio, until Burns resurfaced in 1994 as vocalist on a single for the Italian techno outfit Glam. Burns helped write the single, "Sex Drive", which was a return to the dance floor.

You spurn my natural emotions You make me feel like dirt And I'm hurt And if I start a commotion I run the risk of losing you And that's worse. Ever fallen in love with someone Ever fallen in love In love with someone Ever fallen in love In love with someone You shouldn't've fallen in love with. Honestly, Peter Jozzepi Burns was a great and peculiar singer and here is a fine example of Pete Burns in 'torch songs' mode!
Delirium
There is a cassette tape of this distributed during a brief 1992 Fall Solo Tour of the USA. There has been mention that this CD is allegedly an unauthorized copy of the tape. As I received my copy this CD personally by Pete Burns and Steve Coy as a gift, I cannot confirm or deny how other fans and collectors came to acquire either the CD or the cassette tape.

I once owned the cassette as I bought it at the merch table at Pete's fall 1992 appearance at Masquerade in Atlanta. There was no CD there at the time, otherwise I would have bought that instead. Since the tape was so far below the radar, I would imagine that Pete and Steve would have made some CDs later since I got the impression that the tape was quickly put together for the tour.
