Miel Cools (born Herk-de-Stad, Belgium, 15 April 1935 - died Hasselt, Belgium, 01 June 2013) was a singer/songwriter from the Flemish part of Belgium. He used to record songs in Dutch/Flemish and play acoustic folk guitar. Cools performed and recorded as early as in the mid-1950s, but became an overnight success in Flanders and The Netherlands in 1965 with his single Boer Bavo and his self-titled début LP. He continued to write, record and perform 'til 2007-2008 and had a loyal following in the Low Countries. De nar. De Steenkapper.

De troubadour" ("The troubadour"), sung in Dutch by Lenny Kuhr representing the Netherlands, was – together with "Boom Bang-a-Bang", "Un jour, un enfant", and "Vivo cantando" from, respectively, the United Kingdom, France, and Spain – one of the four winners of the Eurovision Song Contest 1969. In a ballad inspired both musically and lyrically by folk-song traditions, Kuhr sings about a troubadour of the Middle Ages, describing the impact the music has on his audiences
