In metaphysics, object-oriented ontology (OOO) is a 21st-century school of thought that rejects the privileging of human existence over the existence of nonhuman objects. This is in contrast to what it calls the "anthropocentrism" of Kant's Copernican Revolution, as accepted by most other current metaphysics, in which phenomenal objects are said to conform to the mind of the subject and, in turn, become products of human cognition.

Onto Hek delivers a moody ambience between shadowy techno tracks on this new Golden Mist Records release.

Object-oriented ontology is not interested in Kant’s specific epistemology per se- one would be hard put to find many genuine Kantians today –but with the form of the Copernican Revolution as it has persisted and undergone variations since the 18th century. For, in effect, the Copernican Revolution will reduce philosophical investigation to the interrogation of a single relation: the human-world gap.

Such applications are typically built using object-oriented. Ad. Do you want to read the rest of this conference paper?

Object-oriented ontology appears to be a Leibnizian monadology with a lack of appetite. That Harman’s readers miss that Harman’s use of ‘object’ rather than ‘thing’ is intentionally anti-Heideggerian, and thus some sort of ‘argument’ with Heidegger is in some sense important at least to Harman’s own understanding of his project can be seen in the following, where an admirer of Harman’s attempts to describe OOO (this is not the first attempt. Object-oriented ontology ( OOO for short) puts things at the center of this study. Its proponents contend that nothing has special status, but that everything exists equally–plumbers, cotton, bonobos, DVD players, and sandstone, for example. In contemporary thought, things are usually taken either as the aggregation of ever smaller bits (scientific naturalism) or as constructions of human behavior and society (social relativism).

Object-oriented ontology I read the Tool-Being book and was not impressed. I don't think he understood Heidegger's distinction and I think the position that he comes up with based on his misinterpretation really makes no sense  . Object-ontology mapping deals (similarly to the object-relational mapping) with a problem of decision, when to stop the loading process during mapping ontological instance to object (this is because the instance can be indirectly related through properties with a lot of other individuals in the ontology). This problem can be solved using lazy load technique. Our future work is to examine this solution and implement it into our mapper.

Object-oriented ontology (OOO) is a school of thought that rejects the privileging of human existence over the existence of nonhuman objects. Specifically, object-oriented ontology opposes the anthropocentrism of Kant's Copernican Revolution, whereby objects are said to conform to the mind of the subject and, in turn, become products of human cognition. In contrast to Kant's view, object-oriented philosophers maintain that objects exist independently of human perception and are not ontologically exhausted by their relations with humans or other objects.

Object-Oriented Ontology. The ghost of communism past. But, you might say, doesn’t object-oriented ontology, with its isolated objects that never enter into relations, make the mistake of commodity fetishism to an even greater degree than the anti-consumerism argument, by completely removing objects from the social relations of which they are the bearers? Levi Bryant, remarking on this passage from Voyou’s exposition, offers an important corrective to this rather simplistic understanding of relationality within the framework of Object-Oriented Ontology

ZIZEK AND OBJECT-ORIENTED ONTOLOGY: a non-scientistic critique. Publié le juin 17, 2016 par terenceblake. For some time Zizek has emphasised that his work is not to be understood solely in terms of ideological critique, but rather as proposing a new, non-standard ontology.
