Depression Cherry (LP, Album, Whi + CD, Album + Ltd). Bella Union, Bella Union. bella500vx, BELLA500V. Especially "PPP" and "Beyond Love" let you just drift and float away
Depression Cherry (LP, Album, Whi + CD, Album + Ltd). The most DELICIOUS album from Beach House! I keep my SubPop vinyl pressing in the original sleeve it came in to preserve the quality of the red velvet jacket. No flaking or problems with it. I also own the CD issue and sadly that one is flaking and there is always bits of velvet on the CD, so I have to wipe it clean whenever I am going to play it. The vinyl sounds amazing, and this album is perfect from start to finish, by far one of their best. Responder Notifique-me 1 Helpful.
On Depression Cherry, Beach House’s fifth album, Victoria Legrand and Alex Scally bravely include a word that despite the efforts of many, still and disappointingly remains somewhat of a taboo. Yet when a band puts the word depression into the title of their record, it needs to reflect the seriousness of the condition and ensure that it doesn’t imply decline or stasis, but can have a happy ending. The Baltimore dream-pop duo doesn’t let their music rise much higher than 120 BPMs; their graceful dirges, ballads and waltzes are seemingly meant to accompany the comfortable pace of a lazy walk on an autumn afternoon.
Depression Cherry doesn’t always have the emotional heft, or melodic impact, of their 2010 breakthrough Teen Dream or its follow-up, 2012’s Bloom, but the duo’s knack for crafting thoughtful, enveloping songs makes their return more than welcome.
Beach House is Victoria Legrand and Alex Scally. We have been a band for over a decade, living and working in Baltimore, MD. Depression Cherry is our 5th full-length record. This record follows the release of our self-titled album in 2006, Devotion in 2008, Teen Dream in 2010 and Bloom in 2012. Depression Cherry was recorded at Studio in the Country in Bogalusa, Louisiana from November ’14 through January ’15. This time period crossed the anniversaries of both John Lennon’s and Roy Orbison’s death. In general, this record shows a return to simplicity, with songs structured around a melody and.
Beach House is an American dream pop duo formed in Baltimore, Maryland in 2004. The band consists of vocalist and keyboardist Victoria Legrand and guitarist, keyboardist, and backup vocalist Alex Scally.
On their fifth album, Beach House don't veer too far from their template: beautifully spare, sun-bleached ditties that belie their often-dreary subject matter. Sure, there’s a blown-out guitar here (the pleasantly noisy Sparks ), or a breathy spoken word there ( PPP, replete with Cocteau Twins-style guitar), but the duo's MO remains: If it ain’t broke. The creeping organ tones and Victoria Legrand's gauzy croon are so luxuriant, you almost forget that these are still sad songs-and it’s in that balance of light and dark that they reliably stick the landing
