Rhythm & Blues is the 16th studio album by American blues musician Buddy Guy. It was released in July 2013 under RCA Records. Rhythm & Blues marked Guy's largest first week sales in the Soundscan Era, and was his fourth album to reach No. 1 on the Top Blues Albums Chart (following 2010's Living Proof, 2008's Skin Deep, and 2001's Sweet Tea). The album debuted at No. 27 on the Billboard 200 and No. 1 on the Top Blues Albums chart. selling 10,000 copies in its first week.

A great open secret of the last act of Buddy Guy's career is that nearly every album he's made in the new millennium is a concept album of sorts, ranging from the gnarled modern Delta blues of Sweet Tea and the acoustic Blues Singer to the of 2010's Living Proof.

Buddy Whittington on guitar adds so much to this album. My favourite Mayall remains 'Life in the Jungle'. Blues can be very boring like in this case. Don't get me wrong, I like blues and in fact I think John Mayall's "Wake up call" is more or less a masterpiece in this genre. But on this album, "Padlock on the blues", Mayall is making things too easy for himself - it's just the same song over and over again and I'm getting so bored. I tend to think that even Mayall got bored since this one clearly lack enthusiasm

In addition to the new album, Guy is set to appear on David Letterman's Netflix series, My Next Guest Needs No Introduction, on an episode that airs May 4. Guy will perform and chat about the origins of Southern blues. For more on Buddy Guy, head on over to buddyguy.

Before I press play: Kinda weird that Old Town Road is on the album twice. Also why is the remix first but the original last. Also I've seen some people complaining that all his songs are short, like that's inherently a bad thing. Small songs can be really good at getting a point across in one direct hit. I:E; Jack Stauber and Tierra Whack. After Listening: Unironically Great.
