Prom Queen’s lavish embodiment of the ’60s is as refreshing as an afternoon cocktail. In a time when nearly all current bands sound a little like this and a little like that, combining snippets of influence in a desperate attempt to prove they could never be boxed into a genre, Prom Queen’s lavish, full-stop embodiment of the 1960s is as refreshing as a lunch-break cocktail. With Ben von Wildenhaus and Jason Goessl on guitars and Tom Meyers on drums, the live-band recordings sound big and cohesive, fully realizing the alternate-reality concept of Ramadan’s not-so-idyllic early 1960s.

I was looking for something completely different when I stumbled on Prom Queen's music. After sampling I immediately purchased two albums and have been listening multiple times to each. It has greatly enhanced my mood while working/gaming at the computer.
Prom Queen’s Doom-Wop Album Cover. Prom Queen’s music has always been delightfully addicting. I first fell in love with it when Midnight Veil came out in 2014. The gloriously entertaining and catchy video album - featuring original retro animation, neo-burlesque starlets and the cult film legend Lloyd Kaufman - is one of the most enjoyable musical films ever made. If you haven’t seen it, watch NOW! Then came her genius mashup Stranger Peaks (it’s Stranger Things meets Twin Peaks) which instantly went viral.

Robert Stuart Lucky me to get Doom Wop delivered to my door from my monthly subscription of Artist Home Record Club. Enticed by the pink, I gave it a spin and fell hard. Even better was a listen while reading the long love letter from Leeni about the album. Incredible talent and musicianship captured in the luscious recording. Love the bell clear vocals which sometimes go into a Sonics like overdrive.
