Based in New York, Melba Moore first attracted attention in the Broadway production of Hair. Although she has continued her thespian inclinations, winning an award for her performance in the musical Purlie, Moore has also forged a successful singing career.

MELBA was the first album Melba Moore did for Epic and was released in 1978. At this time most artists were putting a couple of disco tracks on their albums. Sometimes the rest was filler or just basic material. Prior to the release of this gorgeous remaster, years and years had passed seeing this long forgotten album in the dusty, moldy bins of used record stores wishing that ONE DAY it would see a much deserved remastering/reissue
