The Figuralchor der Gedächtniskirche Stuttgart (Figural Choir of the Stuttgart Gedachtniskirche (Memorial Church) FGKS) ensemble was founded in 1957 by Helmuth Rilling, immediately after assuming his position at the Evangelical Gedächtniskirche in Stuttgart in 1957. Helmuth Rilling (born 29 May 1933 in Stuttgart) is a German choral conductor and an academic teacher. He is the founder of the Gächinger Kantorei (1954), the Bach-Collegium Stuttgart (1965), the Oregon Bach Festival (1970), the Internationale Bachakademie Stuttgart (1981) and other Bach Academies worldwide, as well as the "Festival Ensemble Stuttgart" (2001) and the "Junges Stuttgarter Bach Ensemble" (2011)

Figuralchor der Gedächtniskirche Stuttgart is a mixed church- and concert choir based in Stuttgart, Germany. It was established in 1957 by Helmuth Rilling. Rilling conducted the choir in several recordings of his project to record the complete choral works by Johann Sebastian Bach. Rilling led the group until the 1970s, when several students took over, first the Americans Henry Gibbons and Gordon Plaine.
