With the Swirl EP, the Scottish Jason Robertson starts his impressive array of deep house releases with his unmistakable Aqua Bassino flavour. The driving "Take me There" provides excellent melodic head-nodding house, while "That Time" adds some subtle keyboard lines over it's mellow beat and synths. Wanna Dance" is more of the same (listen to the graceful ending), but the absolute standout track is "Ibiza".

Aqua Bassino is an alias of Jason Robertson, an Edinburgh-based electronic producer and DJ. He has released 2 studio albums, 3 EPs and 4 singles of downtempo and house on F Communications. Jason was a bass player for several jazz-funk bands before moving to the studio to become an electronic musician.

Settling on the Aqua Bassino moniker, he released his '96 debut EP, Swirl, on France's foremost electronic imprint, F Communications. Three more EPs followed (Deeper, Pools, and Waves) before Robertson released his 2001 debut album, Beats 'n' Bobs. Skillfully blending elements of jazz, soul, and blues, the album features Scottish saxophonist Martin Kershaw, .
