Although a strong seller, Mothers & Daughters is actually among Rosemary Clooney's weakest of her productive Concord period. Tenor saxophonist Scott Hamilton is missing, the selections (some of which deal with children) are often overly sentimental and the jazz content (despite some brief spots for the reeds of Gary Foster) is nearly nonexistent; the occasional string section does not help.
