Wild One" or "Real Wild Child" is an Australian rock and roll song written by Johnny Greenan, Johnny O'Keefe, and Dave Owens. While most sources state that O'Keefe was directly involved in composing the song, this has been questioned by others.
Crumb and his Cheap Suit Serenaders are an American retro string band playing songs from, and in the style of, the 1920s: old-time music, ragtime, "evergreen" jazz standards, western swing, country blues, hokum, vaudeville and medicine show tunes
Johnny O'Keefe (1935-1978) was a pioneering Australian Rock singer whose career began in the 1950s and ended with his early death in the late 1970s of barbiturate poisoning. Often referred to by his nickname, "The Wild One," O'Keefe was the first Australian Rock star. The lyrics are about youngsters wanting to be cool and wild. In Australia this has been used as the theme music for the ABC's all-night music video show Rage for over 20 years. Iggy Pop's version has featured in the movies Adventures in Babysitting (1987) and Problem Child 2 (1991).
Happy New Year to all! Finally got the lights I have been needing so the loft looks good. Pour painted my first record album so I am anxious to see how it looks after it dries. There’s gotta be a law against that.
I ride, I ride the winds that bring the rain A creature of love and I can't be tamed I want you, 'cause I'm gonna take your love from him And I'll touch your face and hot burning skin No, he'll never ever touch you like I do So look in my eyes and burn alive the truth. I'm a wild child, come and love me I want you My heart's in exile I need you to touch me Cause I want what you do. I'm a wild child, come and love me I want you My heart's in exile I need you to touch me Cause I want what you do I want you. A naked heat machine, I want your love When the moons arise we'll feel just what it does.
