Gleemen biography GLEEMEN are a foursome from Genoa headed by guitarist extraordinaire and Jimi Hendrix afficionado Pier Nicol "Bambi" Fossati. After their own successful rendition of "Lady Madonna"(the famous BEATLES track) which put them on the map in the late 60's, they did a few live gigs and then decided they were ripe for a full-blown album which they released in 1970. Their eponymous album is typical of late 60's psychedelia: replete with raunchy blues vibes, it is a blend of wild, Hendrix-inspired guitar solos duelling with the Hammond organ, heavy pumping bass lines and a solid rhythm section.
Gleemen is a music studio album recording by GLEEMEN (Rock Progressivo Rock) released in 1970 on cd, lp, vinyl and/or cassette. 1. Farfalle senza pois (3:11) 2. Shilaila dea dell'amore (4:14) 3. Spirit (6:16) 4. Chi sei tu, uomo (6:46) 5. Un'amico (4:36) 6. Bha-tha-hella (3:06) 7. Clakson (3:56) 8. Dei o confusione (3:32) 9. Induzione parte 1 e 2 (3:55) 10.
Gleemen, featuring Bambi Fossati on guitars, Maurizio Cassinelli on drums and voice, Lio Marchi on keyboards and Angelo Traverso on bass, had been musical pioneers in the field of Italian progressive pop during the mid 60's. They started playing The Rolling Stones and The Beatles' cover songs until the release of their very first 45rpm in 1967, with their version of a very famous and successful song, "Lady Madonna" - by The Beatles, of course! - something typical in the Italian Beat scene of those years

GLEEMEN/GARYBALDI 1969-72 Pier Niccolò "Bambi" Fossati (guitar, vocals) Lio Marchi (keyboards) Angelo Traverso (bass) Maurizio Cassinelli (drums). 1973 Marchi and Traverso quit, replaced by: Sandro Serra (bass). Their only album, issued in 1970, is a good rock album, with strong 60's influences and some typical elements of later Garybaldi work: the wild, Hendrix-inspired guitar playing of Bambi, the organ background and a solid rhythm section. Some bluesy tracks are present, like the longest track on the LP Chi sei tu uomo, and the album has a very good average level, though by no means a progressive work.
