The Church is an Australian rock band formed in Sydney in 1980. Initially associated with new wave and the neo-psychedelic sound of the mid 1980s, their music later became more reminiscent of progressive rock, featuring long instrumental jams and complex guitar interplay.

A megalopolis (sometimes called a megapolis; also megaregion, or supercity) is typically defined as a chain of roughly adjacent metropolitan areas, which may be somewhat separated or may merge into a continuous urban region.

The Northeast megalopolis (also Boston–Washington corridor or Bos-Wash corridor), the most populous megalopolis in the United States with over 50 million residents, is the most heavily urbanized agglomeration of the United States. Located primarily on the Atlantic Ocean in the Northeastern United States, with its lower terminus in the upper Southeast, it runs primarily northeast to southwest from the northern suburbs of Boston, Massachusetts, to the southern suburbs of Washington, .

As much an odd lead single for Gold Afternoon Fix as "Under the Milky Way" was for Starfish, "Metropolis" is a reasonable enough mid-tempo Church rocker but something about it keeps it from being expected radio fodder. Unfortunately this didn't repeat the out-of-nowhere fluke success of "Under the Milky Way," possibly due to the fact that the soaring lead guitar actually resolves each time into a quickly descending then softly rising melody, a hummable but not conventionally so melody.

This article studies religious revitalization in post-Soviet Russia, which has been revealed in unprecedentedly active church building as well. On the example of one of the largest Russian megalopolises, Yekaterinburg, authors analyze the process of restoration and development of an Orthodox landscape, start to which has been given during the religious Renaissance in the late 1980s
