Around the World in 80 Days is a 2004 American action adventure comedy film based on Jules Verne's novel of the same name. The film is set the nineteenth century and centers on Phileas Fogg (Steve Coogan), here reimagined as an eccentric inventor, and his efforts to circumnavigate the globe in 80 days. During the trip, he is accompanied by his Chinese valet, Passepartout (Jackie Chan).
Around the World in Eighty Days. Around the World in Eighty Days (French: Le tour du monde en quatre-vingts jours) is an adventure novel by the French writer Jules Verne, published in 1873. In the story, Phileas Fogg of London and his newly employed French valet Passepartout attempt to circumnavigate the world in 80 days on a £20,000 wager (£2,221,600 in 2018) set by his friends at the Reform Club. It is one of Verne's most acclaimed works.
