7 is the seventh studio album by American dream pop band Beach House, released on May 11, 2018, through Sub Pop. It follows the B-Sides and Rarities compilation album released in 2017, which served as a proverbial "cleaning out the closet" to pave the way for a new creative process.
Beach House remain masters of the indefinable and their seventh album is their heaviest and most immersive-sounding of their career. The album brought their catalog to 77 songs, and the record’s initial issue number was 777. What did all this mystical numerology amount to when you squinted at it? Nothing of course, except to set the stage, light the incense. It’s the magician’s pre-trick pantomime, where he turns up his palms and rolls up his sleeves, for no other purpose than to make you lean in closer and grin harder. We spend a lot of time creatively making mountains out of nothingness, Scally added. Inducing indefinable yearnings, tracing patterns in the air-this is the essence of Beach House’s art.
Beach House - 7 (2018). Started by Lord Kingdom, April 27, 2018. 12 posts in this topic. Really excited for this album, and i'm going to their concert in a few days too but I'm going to wait this one out at least until there's a 320. Probably would make the concert better too if they do new songs.

7 is the seventh studio album by American dream pop duo Beach House. The band have the following to say about it: "7 is our 7th full-length record. At its release, we will have been a band for over 13 years. We have now written and released a total of 77 songs together. Last year, we released an album of b-sides and rarities.
Beach House have released their seventh studio album, fittingly titled 7, and it's yet another terrific record. They are a band who have developed a truly signature sound, and yet with each subsequent album, they shift into different and exciting gradients. They have maintained a uniform standard of excellence across their catalog, which means that determining a "best" album seems like a needless exercise. It's funny, then, that the release of 7 is not only their seventh album, but also brings their overall tally of released songs to 77. Whether you have an intimate knowledge of all their songs to this point, or this is your very first time dipping your toes into the water of their music, 7 is yet another affirmation that when we listen to Beach House, we are standing in the presence of giants. Beach House 7. Type: Album. Release Date: May 11, 2018. It felt like a good step for us. It helped us clean the creative closet, put the past to bed, and start anew. Throughout the process of recording 7, our goal was rebirth and rejuvenation. We wanted to rethink old methods and shed some self-imposed limitations. In the past, we often limited our writing to parts that we could perform live. On 7, we decided to follow whatever came naturally. As a result, there are some songs with no guitar, and some without keyboard
Late last night, Beach House released a song, Dive, the second single from their upcoming new album, following last month’s Lemon Glow. Their new album is called 7 - it’s their seventh album together - and will be out on 5/11. As they expand in an essay accompanying the album announcement, its creative process marks a significant divergence from how the Baltimore duo has made albums in the past. Instead of recording all of the songs at once, they went into the studio five different times over the course of eleven months, recording the songs that they felt most excited about at the time
