Piano Concerto No. 4 in G minor, Op. 40, is a major work by Russian composer Sergei Rachmaninoff, completed in 1926. The work exists in three versions. Following its unsuccessful premiere (1st version), the composer made cuts and other amendments before publishing it in 1928 (2nd version). With continued lack of success, he withdrew the work, eventually revising and republishing it in 1941 (3rd version, most generally performed today)

Rachmaninoff: Piano Concerto no. 3, R. Strauss: Burleske in D minor.

The revisons Rachmaninoff made to the original 1926 version mostly consist in cuts and a few textural changes. Thus, the first version consists of 1016 bars, the second 902 and the third 824. Inspired after rediscovering the Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto "No. 5" in E minor, I created this Fantasy for Flute & Piano. The title reflects this pieces imagery rather than the musical form, as it is not an actual fantasy. If you like Rachmaninoff but still have a kids heart,THIS SONG IS FOR YOU!It's either Rachmaninoff with a twist, OR Jesus Loves Me with a twist.

For Piano Concerto No. 2, I prefer performances by Sviatoslav Richter with the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra (Rachmaninov: Piano Concerto No. 2, Tchaikovsky: Piano Concerto No. 1) and Van Cliburn with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra (Tchaikovsky: Piano Concerto N., Rachmaninoff: Concerto N.
