Ella Fitzgerald Sings the Harold Arlen Song Book is a 1961 (see 1961 in music) album by the American jazz singer Ella Fitzgerald, with a studio orchestra conducted and arranged by Billy May. This album marked the only time that Fitzgerald worked with May. The Harold Arlen Song Book is the sixth album in Fitzgerald's series of recordings of songs written by the pantheon of Broadway composers who formed the body of work now considered the Great American Songbook. The cover art is a drawing by Henri Matisse.
Ella Fitzgerald's idea to sing the songbooks of major writers proved smart, savvy, and artful. By the time she began to record Sings the Harold Arlen Song Book in 1960, she had sung the songbooks of Duke Ellington, Rodgers & Hart, and Irving Berlin. This relaxed and tastefully arranged set showcases Fitzgerald in her prime, confidently engaging 28 of Arlen's best songs. Familiar pieces like "One for My Baby" and "That Old Black Magic" make appearances, along with all-time classics like "Stormy Weather" and "Over the Rainbow.

Ella Fitzgerald sings the Rodgers and Hart Song Book Audio CD. While people know Ella Fitzgerald, not everyone knows that Harold Arlen wrote the music for such wonderful classic songs as "One For My Baby (And One More For The Road);" "It's Only A Paper Moon;" "I've Got The World On A String;" "Stormy Weather (Keeps Rainin' All The Time);" and the timeless "Over The Rainbow. Ella does great justice to Arlen's work by throwing herself completely into each tune; and the musical accompaniments by Billy May are brilliantly produced.
