Todd Terry's Greatest Hits Todd Terry. Listen on Apple Music. Bango (To The Batmobile). Released: Feb 29, 2000. 2000 Warlock Records.

Terry Todd (born December 31, 1937), is a former Powerlifter, and Olympic weightlifter. Dr. Todd is co-founder of the . In 1988, the album was reissued again on a CD format with a different cover art and was retitled 12 Greatest Hits. In 2003, the album was digitally remastered and was reissued under MCA records again with the original 1967 cover art. Bob Ludwig digitally remastered the album in 2003, making the album sound smoother in sound than it originally did before.

Placed alongside needed retrospectives (like Warp10+1) of the Detroit and Chicago scenes, Todd Terry's Greatest Hits takes the immense claim of early-period New York house's raw pulse and street aesthetics, staking it halfway between disco and hip-hop. Listeners wanting a summation of what house music meant in the late '80s and '90s would be hard-pressed to find a better release than this one. ~

Todd Terry is one of the most legendary house producers of all time, creating a distinctive Todd Terry sound that is instantly recognizable on any dancefloor. From the late '80s, Todd Terry has been producing and performing music, mainly in the more club-oriented style of house music. Classics like Weekend and House Is A Feelin' are known by most lovers of house music and still played by many a DJ worldwide.

As reviewed by me in December 2000:This CD is a digital edit (a DJ mix assembled on a computer rather than a live mix set) of classic Todd Terry tracks from 1988, plus 3 tracks from 1994. The music is great, but there's just one major, major problem with this disc. The intro and segues are in stereo, but the tracks are all in mono! This is fine if you are blasting it at a party or on a crummy car audio system, but for any other kind of listening, it is terribly annoying.Since I have the original 12"s of a number of these tracks, I know that Todd Terry's music was in fact recorded in stereo. It is a crying shame that the dj who mixed the disc, Anthony Acid (an artist who released some mediocre dance tracks of his own back in the day), mastered all the tracks mono and left his segues in stereo. Was it intentional? I wonder...
